Bio
Domingo Yagües Nuño is originally from Tijuana Mexico. Nuño lived in Tijuana, bi-culturally, until 16 at which point part of the family migrated to the States.
Yagües Nuño developed an interest in art while studying photography with Pasha Turley in San Diego. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Cal State Fullerton studying with Eileen Cowin in Southern California. Furthermore he received a Masters of Fine Art from San Francisco State University studying with Lewis De Soto, Carlos Villa and Christine Tamblyn.
In 1994/95 Yagües Nuño was awarded a WESTAF Fellowship in photography, and in 1997 collaborative projects culminated in the Bay Area Artist Award from New Langton Arts and the Eureka Fellowship.
Yagües Nuño exhibited at the Bill Maynes Gallery in NYC and was part of Axis Mexico exhibition at the San Diego Museum of Art. Yagües Nuño spent 2019 researching [including photographing] his grandfather's departure from Spain right before the hostilities of the Spanish Civil War began. Recently, Yagües Nuño was selected for the Charcoal Book Club portfolio review.
